  3. Talk is cheap. As Artisoft network and NetMedia products take their
  4. foothold in the marketplace, some of the talk distorts the purpose, the
  5. applications and the effectiveness of our products. We are not above
  6. acknowledging valid criticism. But when we hear our products 
  7. misrepresented, we feel obliged to set the record straight. We are doing
  8. more than correcting errors.  We have launched a major advertising
  9. campaign to permanently "Shatter the Myth."  Such as:

  11. <->Myth:<->  Artisoft 's LANtastic is not suitable for a network larger than
  12.       a handful of PCs. 
  13.  
  14. <->Fact:<-> It's certainly true that much of our success is based on the
  15.       principle that small is better.  Our small RAM and small price made
  16.       LANtastic the popular success it has become. It's even true that
  17.       most LANtastic installations are small networks, because the quick
  18.       and easy software is simple enough for small businesses who can't
  19.       afford on-staff technicians to nurse the network. But it's also true
  20.       that LANtastic supports up to 300 nodes.

  23. LANtastic installations are all over the world.  They're especially popular in
  24. universities, from the Ivy League to the PAC-10.  Many of America's largest
  25. corporations use LANtastic, as do the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and
  26. Marines. LANtastic connects the U.S. Departments of Agriculture,
  27. Commerce, Energy, Interior and Transportation.  LANtastic is even at work
  28. at NASA, the U.S. Olympic Committee and the United Nations.

  30. <->Myth:<->  Artisoft is too small and unstable for business to rely on for
  31.       critical equipment and continued support.

  33. <->Fact:<-> That tale is simply out of date--way out of date.  Established
  34.       in 1982, Artisoft has, for the last two consecutive years, ranked in
  35.       the top 25% of Inc. Magazine's 500 fastest- growing, privately-held
  36.       companies. With an installed base of hundreds of thousands of
  37.       nodes, with annual sales at $21 million last fiscal year, and that
  38.       figure already surpassed in fiscal 1991, and with more than 260
  39.       people on staff, it's clear Artisoft is neither small nor unstable.
